200 Relatives of Christchurch Victims Invited to Hajj 2019 by Saudi Arabia.
A number of 200 relatives of
those sufferers of Christchurch massacre which happened in New Zealand in March
were encouraged July 16, Tuesday to offer pilgrimage this year.
Through the Guest program for
Hajj and Umrah, Sheikh Dr. Abullatif Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs
said:
"We wanted to alleviate the anguish of the loved ones of those Muslim victims that were murdered in
Christchurch Massacre that violated all spiritual teachings and diplomatic
principles," he continued.
Before this season 2019 on
Friday, 15th March, 51 New Zealand Muslims were murdered and wounded
of a white supremacist out of Australia opened fire on worshippers in two
mosques in the Christchurch city.
The Minister Al-Sheikh further
advised that “the ministry will pay for the travel expenses of their pilgrims
and supply them with all probable services. Our embassy in New Zealand also
functions to make sure that the relatives of these victims carry everything
required to do Hajj."
Islam in New Zealand is stuck by
roughly 1 percent of their entire population. Small numbers of immigrants in
Europe and South Asia settled before the 1960s in New Zealand in the early The 1900s.
Large-scale Muslim immigration
started in the 1970s with the arrival of Fiji Indians, followed in the 1990s
from refugees from several war-torn nations. The Islamic center started in 1959
and there are now two Islamic schools and many mosques.
The Hajj is a yearly Islamic
pilgrimage to Makkah, the holiest city for Muslims, along with a compulsory
religious duty for Muslims which has to be carried out at least once in their
life with adult Muslims who are emotionally and physically able to undertake
the travel and can support their family during their absence.
The Hajj that is among the Five
Pillars of Islam is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim
individuals, and their submission to God. The rites of Hajj are conducted more
than five or six days, end on the day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th and final the month of the Hijri calendar and start on the 8th.
During Hajj, pilgrims join
processions of thousands and thousands of individuals, who concurrently
converge on Makkah for the weekend of their Hajj, and carry out a collection of
rituals: every individual walks counter-clockwise seven days round the Kaaba,
runs back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwah, drinks from the
Zamzam Well goes to the northeast of Mount Arafat to stay in vigil, spends a
night at the plain of Muzdalifa, also perform the symbolic stoning of the devil by
throwing stones at 3 pillars.
After scarifying of the animals,
the Pilgrims are required to shave their head and then they celebrate the
festival of Eid al-Adha. In 2018, the number of pilgrims to Hajj was reported
2,371,675 pilgrims in total.
Every Muslim wants to perform
Hajj at least once time but the increasing rate of expenses is making a little a bit hard for everyone to travel Saudi Arabia, individuals can take help in this
matter from any travel agency which helps the individuals through the 5 Star Hajj Packages.
May Allah help every one of us to
perform Hajj. (Ameen)
