The Black Stone (Arabic: ٱلْحَجَرُ ٱلْأَسْوَد‎‎, al-Hajar al-Aswad, "Black Stone") is a pillar set into the eastern corner of the Kaaba . The antique building positioned in the center of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is respected by Muslims as an Islamic artefact which, according to Muslim tradition, dates back to the time of Adam and Eve . The stone was respected at the Kaaba in pre-Islamic pagan times. According to Islamic custom, it was set to complete into the Kaaba's wall by the Prophet Muhammad in the year 605 AD , five years before his first expose.
