Which Are Prohibited Acts In The State Of Ihram?

Umrah is a sacred journey than the other journeys of the world across the Muslims because they visit “House of Allah” and different holy places in this journey. 1: Using perfume

It is not allowed for a man and woman to use perfume in the state of Ihram. This is not prohibited to eat and drink sweet smelling food or fruits like mango, Banana, and etc. and not prohibited to smell the natural smell coming from Kaaba. It is better for every pilgrim to prevent himself/herself from using any scent items.

2: Cutting nails or hairs

The cutting or trimming the hair of the head or the bread and shaving bodily hair or removing are prohibited in the state of Ihram even a single hair from any part of the body.

3: Covering head (Men)

It is not allowed for a man to cover his head in Umrah and Hajj with anything. It is not prohibited to cover himself with an umbrella during this holy journey.

4: Covering face and hands (Women)

It is not allowed for a woman to cover her face and hands with anything as mask or veil and gloves. She should cover her face from a Na-Mahram by hanging her head-covering over her face down to the nose or chin without touching the face.

5: Sexual activities

In the state of Ihram, a husband cannot take the part in any sexual activity with his wife. It is allowed after the state of Ihram. 

6: Hunt animals

Makkah and Madina are sacred cities therefore hunting is always forbidden in the area of these cities. In the state of Ihram, hunting animals are prohibited except the snakes, scorpions, pythons, and rats. Pilgrim can kill such wild animal who attacks on him/her.

7: Sewn cloths

In the state of Ihram, a man cannot wear the sewn cloths even underwear because Man's Ihram consists of two unsewn sheets. It is allowed for a woman to wear sewn clothes. Woman cover his body with the normal dress (loosely) which she wears in normal days of life and this normal dress is covered by an Abaya, so normal dress and Abaya are both sewn dresses.

Note: if someone breaks the rules of Ihram then he/she should pay some penalty that is scarifying a certain amount of sheep or camel which is described by scholars.
