History of Hajj:

Four thousand years ago, there was no sign of the city of Makkah. Then Allah ordered his beloved Prophet Ibrahim (AS), to leave his wife and son in the desert. Ibrahim was a prophet, therefore, he could not reject this order. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) left his wife and son in dessert. Hazrat Ibrahim’s wife name was Hazrat Hajirah (RA) and his son name was Hazrat Ismail (AS).

At that time, the city of Makkah was completely dry and no one lived amongst the sand dunes. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) gave some food and water. There was one time came when some food and water was finished and Hazrat Ismail (AS) felt thirst and Hazrat Hajirah (RA) fast walked between the two hills of Safa and Marwah in search of water.

At this time, an angel whose name was Hazrat Jibraeel (AS) came to help of Hazrat Ismail (AS). Hazrat Jibrail (AS) stuck the earth with his wing, then a spring of water burst there. So in this way, Hazrat Hajirah (AS) got the water for his son. Hazrat Hajirah (AS) said a word to water: Zamzam. If Hazrat Hajirah (RA) did not say Zamzam word then the water flow was not stopped.

Due to water, different tribes started to settle at this place. Then Allah ordered His beloved Prophet Ibrahim (AS), made my House, and the name of this House is Kaaba. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and His son Hazrat Ismail (AS) started to build the House of Allah. Allah sent two stones from heaven.

Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) built the Kaaba with the help of one of stone. Other stone was fitted in the eastern corner of Kaaba and this stone name is Hajr e Aswad. The house of Allah was 27 feet high, 66 feet wide and 96 feet long.

Another moment Allah ordered his Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), you slaughter your son. Devil tried to mislead the Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) throw the stones on the devil. Allah liked the acts of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

A time came when the people of Makkah filled the House of Allah with idols. People said that these idols are our gods. At the conquest time of Makkah, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) cleaned the Kaaba from idols. There were 360 idols in Makka. Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) performed Hajj in 632 CE.
