What is Umrah?

Abu Hurairah (RA) says that Nabi (SAW) stated: An Umrah to another Umrah will be the recovery of sins for whatever (minor) occurs among them. (Bukhari, Muslim)

Ibne Masood (RA) said that Nabi (SAW) said: Follow up the Hajj and Umrah because they surely remove poverty and sins as fire separates the impurities from iron, gold, and silver. (Tirmidhi, Ibne Khuzaimah, Ibn Hibbaan)
Umar bin Khattab said that Nabi (SAW) said: Follow up between the Hajj and Umrah because certainly succession between the two of them increases the lifespan and dispels poverty and sins as fire removes impurities. (Baihaqi)
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Nabi (SAW) said: The Jihad of the elders, weak and the lady is undertaking the Hajj and Umrah. (Nasaai)

Umar bin Abasa (RA) tells that Nabi (SAW) said: Two actions are considered to be the most good of actions if somebody does them in the same way. They are an accepted Hajj and an accepted Umrah.


Ibne Umar (RA) describes that Nabi (SAW) said: the warrior in the cause of Allah, the pilgrim and the one who is performing Umrah are all the delegation of Allah. He called them and they replied and they will ask for His deliveries and He will give it to them. (Ibne Majah, Ibn Hibbaan)
Ibne Abbas (RA) relates that Nabi (SAW said: Umrah performed in the month of Ramadhaan will equal (in rewards) to that of Hajj or Hajj performed with me (SAW). (Bukhari, Muslim)

Nearly 2 million pilgrims performed Umrah since the start of Ramadan

  Riyadh : Close to 2 million Muslims from around the world have performed Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia since the start of the holy month of Ramadan on April 2, 2022, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. “Since the beginning of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan until the tenth day of Ramadan, nearly two million pilgrims have bought Ramadan Umrah Packages and were delegated to the Grand Mosque in line with the precautionary measures,” Osama bin Mansour, the deputy head of the Presidency General for Affairs of the two holy Mosques for congregation management said.
