Method of How to Perform Sa'i
Do you know that Sa'i is the fourth obligator part of Umrah? After finishing the salat of tawaf, it is prescribed for the traveller to drink from Zamzam water before going towards the Safa hill for the Sa'i. It is prescribed for the pilgrim to do the walk calmly for the Sa'i until the point when he achieves the primary Pillar (which is recognized by an extraordinary light). From the primary Pillar to the following one, it is prescribed for the men to walk energetically; however, this suggested is not for ladies. The reverential demonstration of walking seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah which is situated some distance from the Ka'ba is called Sa'i.
According to a tradition reported by Ibn Abbas:
"Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) left his wife, Hajara, and son, Isma’il (A.S), whom she was still nursing, at (site of) the House of Allah, in response to a divine revelation. Makkah at that time was a place where there was neither water nor any dweller. Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) left only a bag of dates and a container of water for them. Unfortunately, this insufficient provision of food and water did not last long. Her milk dried up as well. Her son grew hungrier and hungrier; Hajar could hardly bear to look at him. In her desperation, she repeatedly ran between the hillocks of Safa and Marwah, climbing them to get a better view of the landscape and, perhaps, also to see if there was someone around to help. Upon her return to her son, after some time of runs, she discovered that spring had miraculously sprouted near the infant. This spring, called Zamzam is located to the east of Ka’ba. It still runs as strong today as it has for thousands of years. In a land where water is scarce, the Zamzam runs abundantly in eloquent testimony to the power and mercy of Almighty Allah. Millions of people have drunk from it since then, and continue to do so today with no end in sight to this miracle of Allah. Ibn Abbas added, The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said, “It is (to commemorate this walk) that pilgrims walk between Safa and Marwah."
General guidelines of Sa’i
For Sa'i to be valid and adequate, it must consent to the accompanying conditions:
- Must be performed in seven rounds. (Strolling from Safa to Marwah is considered one round and Marwah to Safa as another round and so on. Numerous pilgrims make mistakes in counting Sa'i rounds from Safa to Safa as one round. Indeed, this is two rounds.
- Must be performed in the way amongst Safa and Marwah, because of the fact that the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) did as such, and also he expressly let us know: "Take your (religious) ceremonies from me."
- Male travellers walk energetically between the green lights (showed in favour of the dividers closer to Safa). Ladies walk ordinary all through the seven rounds. If you are dealing with an elderly or an incapacitated traveller, you can avoid running between the green-lit territory.
- For Sa'i, it is ideal yet not a necessity to have wudhu. Most researchers are of the feeling that cleaning isn't important for Sa'i. This is in light of what the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said to 'Aisha when she bled amid Hajj. He advised her, "You may play out all customs (of Hajj) as different traveller do, except performing tawaf around the Ka'ba which you may do after you are perfect and never again bleeding."
- Congruity in Sa'i is likewise not a requirement for its approval. For instance, one may stop Sa'i to react to the call of nature. Or maybe, Sa'i must be hindered for Fardh salah and prescribed for janaza salah. There is no damage on the off chance that you take a break during Sa'i. After the break, you may proceed from where you had stopped. You should not begin Sa'i again from the earliest starting point.
- In any event, on the off chance that you are in question about the number of rounds you have made, depending on the lesser number you recollect.
COMMON MISTAKES during Sa’i
- A few travellers think that going from Safa to Marwah and after that coming back to Safa is considered one round of the Sa’i. The right path is to check the going towards Marwah as the first round and the arrival to Safa as the second round. If somebody includes it the wrong way (and ended up doing 14 adjusts rather than 7) out of obliviousness or he depended on somebody who is known to be acquainted with decisions of the journey, at that point, there is nothing on him. Now there are many companies that are providing Cheap Umrah Packages 2024, but you select the best package which has Visa, Flight, Private Transport, and Food with Hotel. Yet, if he does this without a decent reason, at that point he should rehash the whole Sa’i.
- A few travellers do the sa'i sitting in the wheelchair which is pushed by another person. This isn't reasonable aside from the individuals who can't do Sa’i without anyone else. If you want all information about Umrah arrangements for disabled pilgrims, you are read this article and get all the information about disabled pilgrims.
- It happens now and again that the traveller is going towards Safa and afterwards turns his back towards it on account of the group or because he saw a companion, and so forth. This is wrong; and if this happens, at that point he needs to return back to where the infringement occurred and restart the sa'i starting there onwards the correct way since one of the states of the legitimacy of the sa'i is that the traveller should confront Marwah while walking towards it and face Safa while walking towards it.
- A man who routinely engages question does that in sa'i likewise and winds up repeating it. The decision for such a man is, to the point that he should disregard his questions similarly as he is required to overlook them while doing the petitions. The traveller is permitted to utilize a counter to help him in monitoring his number of rounds or depending on companions.
- A traveller's sa'i is hindered and ends up plainly invalid, at that point he begins the new sa'i quickly. This isn't right. He should abandon some time hole in the middle of the invalid sa'i and the better and brighter one.
Step by step guide to Sa’i
Step-1:
As you get close to Safa to start Sa’i, it is Sunnah to say:
إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ
(“Innassafaa walmarwata min sha’aa irillahi.)” (“Indeed Safa and Marwah are among the signs of Allah.)”
Step-2:
Then say:
(“Abda’u bima bada’a Allahu bihi.)” (“I begin with that which Allah has begun.)”
The above is said only once before starting Sa’i, not at the beginning of every round.
Step-3:
When ascending Safa, go up until the Ka’ba is visibly seen (if possible) and facing it say three
times:
(“Alhamdulillahi, walaa ilaha illallahu, wallahu Akbar.)” (“All
praise is due to Allah, there is no God but Allah, and Allah is Greater.)”
Step-4:
Then say:
“Laa ilaha illallahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahulmulku walahulhamdu, youhee wayumeetu wahua ala kullishay’in qadeer. La ilaha illallahu wahdahu, anjaza wa’dahu, wansara a’bdahu, wahazamal ahzaaba wahdahu.” (“There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, no partners are unto Him, He is the dominion (kingdom) and His is the praise. He gives life and He gives death and He is capable of everything. There is none worthy of worship but Allah alone, Who fulfilled His promise, and gave victory to His servant and defeated the confederates alone.)”
Step-5:
Raising your hands, you may make the above supplications three times. You may also add your own supplications in between these three times.
Now proceed towards Marwah and when you arrive at the green fluorescent light, try to run briskly (men only). Women should not run.
Step-7:
There is no prescribed supplication during walking towards Marwah and vice versa. There is nothing from the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) establishing any particular prayer during the Sa’i.
During walking towards Marwah, all the time recite prayers and supplications of your choice.
Your arrival at Marwah completes one leg of the Sa’i.
Step-8:
Upon arriving at Marwah, repeat the supplications offered at Safa, i.e. face the Kabah and repeat the above du’a
“Alhamdulillah, walaa ilaha ..." and “Laa ilaha illallahu wahdahu laa shareeka Lahu ...” three times), and then turn around and retrace your walk back to Safa. This will complete the second leg of the Sa’i.
Step-9:
Two rounds of Sa’i are now complete. Repeat these steps at Safa and Marwah until you finish at Marwah, which should be your seventh round.
After of completion of Sa’i:
If this Sa’i is followed by ‘Umrah tawaf, then the Tammattu Pilgrims, if he is a male, he shaves or cuts his hair and if she is a female, then she shortens her hair by a fingertip. However Then say:
